Reflecting on Our 10-Day Dhul Hijjah Journaling Journey
As we wrap up our 10-day Dhul Hijjah Journaling journey in the Soulful Serenity community, I just want to say thank you to everyone who took part. The reflections, the insights, the courage to sit with yourselves, it’s been transformative to witness.
These journaling prompts were never just about the 10 days. They were designed to spark something in you , a deeper awareness, a softer presence, and a path toward healing through reflection and surrender. But now, it’s about carrying that momentum forward.
Because as much as we love those bursts of motivation, it’s consistency that holds us. Journaling, self-work, and reflection they become most powerful when they become part of your everyday rhythm. So let this just be the beginning.
Emotional Regulation & Nervous System Awareness
Now, let me be honest this morning was not a smooth one for me. It was one of those days when I woke up feeling off. There were external things frustrations, disruptions that had me feeling emotionally unsettled.
And I share that with you because emotional regulation isn’t about never feeling off. It’s about becoming aware of what’s happening within, and giving yourself the tools to respond with care, instead of shame.
The truth is, we’re human. We don’t just feel peace and joy we also feel irritation, sadness, grief, anger, envy. These emotions are not “bad” they are messages. And the more we can hold them with love instead of judgment, the more we heal.
When we begin to regulate the nervous system, we begin to interrupt those patterns. We stop spiraling. We stop suppressing. We meet ourselves with compassion instead of criticism. That’s where real emotional healing begins.
Research has shown that regular nervous system regulation, through practices like breathwork, journaling, grounding, and emotional healing, reduces stress, improves emotional resilience, and rewires old subconscious patterns, reduces anxiety, improves focus, and creates better emotional balance. This is the work that makes everything else sustainable.
