Dear Beautiful soul
I greet you with the universal greeting of peace,
Assalamualaykum ,
Bismillah,
Lately, I’ve been thinking about how noisy the world has become.
Everywhere you go, there’s something playing a video, a reel, a notification, a conversation, a new trend, a new “must-watch.” And maybe you’ve noticed it too: that we can’t even sit through a meal without checking our phones, or go for a walk without something playing in the background. Silence feels almost… uncomfortable.
And yet, I remember a time before all this noise.
When we’d sit through something without checking our phones, when we’d actually wait a whole week for the next episode of a show, and we didn’t mind, and there was no need to speed it up. When being still didn’t feel like such a threat. There was a sense of patience then. A rhythm. A calm that wasn’t forced.
Now, everything is instant. We want quick answers, quick healing, quick validation.
And in chasing that speed, we’ve lost something very sacred, presence.
Why We Can’t Sit With Ourselves
I don’t think this is just a Gen Z issue. I see it across every generation.
Even as a millennial, I find myself struggling to just be. There’s an urge to fill every quiet moment to keep the mind busy and distracted, to keep the thoughts away.
The truth is, all that noise is numbing us. It’s keeping us from feeling, from processing, from connecting not just to others, but to ourselves, and to Allah.
And when you’re constantly overstimulated, your nervous system never gets to rest. You start feeling restless, burnt out, anxious, and you don’t even know why. You lie down to rest, but your mind keeps racing. You pick up your phone out of habit, not need.
And I think that’s the deeper wound here we’ve forgotten how to be human.
Returning to Stillness
It’s not easy to sit with silence.
Because silence reveals things. It shows you where you’re hurting, what you’ve been avoiding, and what you haven’t yet healed. But silence also brings peace. It reconnects you to what’s real.
This week inside our Soulful Serenity Community, that’s exactly what we’re working on through the Self-Love Challenge (Week 2) — learning how to slow down and honour yourself and your energy,
Real self-love isn’t about pampering or pretending to be positive.
It’s remembering that you are also worthy of your own gentleness, your own time, your own care.
Most of us give so much of ourselves away to people, to work, to responsibilities and we forget to refill. We forget that the way we treat ourselves directly reflects the way we connect with our Creator. Because when you love yourself sincerely, you’re honouring the soul that Allah has entrusted you with.
If you haven’t joined our community yet, you can still be part of it. It’s not just a group, it’s a space where we reflect, heal, and grow together. Join here, Soulful Serenity Group
The Vision Within - Live Workshop 🌙
Many of you have been asking for live classes, and I’m so excited to finally bring them back. On Saturday, November 8th at 10 AM (SA time), I’ll be hosting The Vision Within, a live workshop about reconnecting to your purpose and redefining what success truly means to you.
It’s something I’ve been sitting with for a while, how easily we lose sight of why we’re here.
We get caught up in doing, achieving, surviving, and we forget that we were never meant to just do. We were created to be.
I always say: you were born on purpose, for a purpose.
Your life isn’t random. Even your pain isn’t pointless. Everything is guiding you somewhere , if you’re willing to pause and listen.
Like a tree, your purpose is to grow, to bear fruit, to give shade. You don’t have to force it , you just have to root yourself deeply, and allow yourself to be nurtured by your Creator.
That’s what The Vision Within is about: rediscovering who you are, what drives you, and how to align your daily life with your divine purpose. You can message me directly to book your space it’s open worldwide, and seats are limited. https://wa.me/27765715382
A Final Reflection
If there’s one thing I want you to take away this week, it’s this:
You don’t need more noise to feel alive.
You just need presence.
When life gets too loud, pause.
Put the phone down. Take a breath. Listen to the silence ,because in that silence, Allah often speaks the loudest.
And maybe that’s what the soul has been craving all along , not more, but less.
Less noise, less rushing, less doing.
And more being.
With Love, Gratitude and Presence
