Assalamualaykum
My dear sister,
I hope this past week has brought you at least one moment of stillness, one breath that reminded you to pause.
First, I just want to say thank you to everyone who filled in the Eldest Daughter Questionnaire. Your responses were so honest, so deeply real, and it reminded me why these kinds of conversations are necessary. They gave me insight into just how much many of us are carrying silently the weight, the pressure, the quiet strength. And also the longing… to just be seen, without expectation. I’m taking all of this in as I create more focused support for us in this space, inshaAllah.
🌿 Mindfulness Morning Retreat – This Saturday
A gentle reminder that our Return to Yourself Morning Mindfulness Retreat is happening this Saturday, 3rd May at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens in Ruimsig, Johannesburg.
We’ll breathe, reflect, journal, and simply take the space we so rarely give ourselves without rush, without pressure. The gardens are beautiful and peaceful, and it’s the perfect place to just reconnect inwardly.
Most retreats like this usually go for way more, but I’ve kept the price at R350 so that more women can benefit. If you’re in the area, I’d love for you to join.
🗓️ Date: Saturday, 3rd May
📍 Location: Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens
⏰ Time: Morning
💰 Cost: R350

On Self-Love (the real kind)
Self-love isn’t a cliché or a feel-good quote it’s the daily practice of not turning against yourself. It’s about noticing when you're being hard on yourself, catching it, and choosing something softer.
A lot of us don’t even know how to love ourselves because we weren’t shown how. But maybe the starting point isn’t “how do I love myself?” maybe it’s, “how can I stop harming myself?” How can I stop ignoring my needs, my voice, my pain?
It starts with acknowledging yourself. Not waiting to feel worthy. Not waiting to be healed or whole. Just seeing yourself, as you are, and saying: I matter, too.
When we stop running from ourselves, we make space to receive the love of others and most importantly, to accept the love of Allah.
