As-salamu alaykum, dear beautiful soul,
Bismillah.
There’s a phrase I hear often… sometimes spoken out loud, and sometimes just felt quietly within.
“I’ve tried everything… nothing works.”
And when those words settle in, they carry something heavy with them.
Not just frustration…
but a kind of exhaustion.
A sense of being stuck.
Of going in circles.
Of wondering, what is wrong with me?
Because when you’ve tried, and tried again… and still find yourself in the same patterns, the same emotions, the same struggles… it’s very easy for that thought to slowly turn into something more personal.
Maybe I’m the problem.
Maybe I just can’t change.
Maybe I’m failing.
And that’s where it becomes painful… because it’s no longer about what you tried.
It becomes about who you believe you are.
If you sit with this a little more honestly, you’ll start to see that most people don’t actually try everything.
What they’ve often done is try many things… inconsistently.
A few days here.
A week there.
Starting with intention… but stopping when it feels uncomfortable, when life gets busy, or when the results don’t come quickly enough.
And that’s not a flaw.
It’s a pattern.
A very human one.
Because we’ve been conditioned to expect quick shifts, quick fixes, quick relief.
So when something doesn’t change immediately, we assume it’s not working.
And we move on.
But real change doesn’t work that way.
It doesn’t come from doing something once… or even a few times.
It comes from what you return to… consistently.
And this is the part that is often misunderstood.
Consistency is not about doing something perfectly every day.
It’s about continuing… even when it feels small.
Even when it feels like nothing is happening.
Even when you don’t feel like it.
Because what’s really happening in those moments is not always visible.
You are rewiring patterns.
You are softening old responses.
You are creating something new within yourself… slowly.
But because it doesn’t feel dramatic, the mind dismisses it.
And that’s when the cycle repeats.
Start → Stop → Doubt → Start again → Stop again.
Until eventually, it feels like nothing works.
But what if the truth is not that nothing works…
What if it’s that nothing was given the time and consistency it needed to work?
And I say this with a lot of gentleness, because I’ve seen how discouraging it can feel to keep returning to the same place.
To feel like you’ve made progress, only to slip back.
To feel motivated, only to lose it again.
It can make you feel like you’re lacking discipline… or that something within you is broken.
But you’re not broken.
You’ve just been trying to do something that requires consistency… without the structure, support, or understanding to sustain it.
Because consistency, on your own, is not easy.
Not when you’re navigating emotions.
Not when old patterns feel stronger than new ones.
Not when life pulls you in different directions.
And that’s why so many people stay stuck… not because they don’t want change, but because they’re trying to do it alone.
The shift happens when you stop relying on motivation… and start building something that supports you in returning, again and again.
Not in a complicated way.
But in a simple, grounded, repeatable way.
Because change doesn’t come from intensity.
It comes from consistency.
And perhaps this is the part to really sit with…
You are not a failure for not having changed yet.
You are someone who hasn’t yet found a way to stay with something long enough for it to change you.
And that is something that can be learned.
Gently.
Steadily.
With the right support.
A Closing Reflection
Maybe it’s not that nothing works.
Maybe it’s that you’ve been starting… but not staying.
Trying… but not returning.
And what if the shift isn’t in doing more…
but in choosing one thing… and staying with it, long enough for it to shape you?
Because everything you’re looking for…
is on the other side of consistency.
Not perfection.
Not intensity.
Just the quiet decision to come back again, and again, and again.
