Soulful Serenity Newsletter #20
Assalamualaikum, dear beautiful soul,
Bismillah,
This morning on Instagram stories, I shared a reflection that’s been sitting with me deeply. It was about a person I met whose life had changed overnight , waking up one morning without the use of their legs. They told me about the day they went to the hospital and, instead of being consumed by their own pain, they noticed someone else in greater need and tried to comfort them.
That one simple act of kindness, in the midst of their own struggle, left an imprint on me. It reminded me that every single day we wake up is an opportunity one we often take for granted. The truth is, none of us knows which day might be the one that changes everything. So, how are you waking up each morning? Do you find yourself heavy with the weight of all you “should” do, or are you choosing to see the gift in simply having today?
Gratitude, I’ve found, shifts everything. What we focus on expands. And when we choose to focus on what is still here, what is still possible, we begin to live differently.
This is why I’ve created spaces and tools that help us learn to invest in our mindset. Because the world we live in is noisy. We are bombarded with information, not all of it nourishing, and slowly, it shapes the way we think, the way we feel, the way we live. If we don’t consciously build resilience and clarity, we end up carrying patterns that keep us small, tired, and reactive. Imagine instead waking up with the tools to shift your thoughts, to create a mindset that helps you thrive, and to finally feel like you are in charge of your inner world. That’s what my short workshops are designed for real, practical ways to rewire the way you think so you can live lighter and freer.
And then there’s the story I stumbled on recently, scrolling through social media, someone who shared how obsessed they were with intemittent fasting, gym routines, diets , all to reach a certain number on the scale. They admitted that even though they were doing “everything right,” the scale wasn’t moving, and they were left feeling broken. It broke my heart because this is exactly the silent struggle so many carry. Society praises this kind of obsession as “discipline,” when in truth it is disordered eating in disguise. And it’s not just damaging to our bodies, it eats away at our confidence, our joy, our relationship with ourselves.
This is something I speak about often, because it’s a conversation we desperately need to have , especially for the sake of our daughters, our sisters, our younger selves. Imagine what it would mean if instead of punishing ourselves into smaller bodies, we learned how to love the ones we already live in. To care for them, not to shrink them. To celebrate them, not to fix them. That’s the work I’ve poured into the Learning to Love Your Body masterclass, because when we change this story, we change generations.
So I want to leave you with this:
If you want to change the world, start with the way you see yourself. Start with one shift in mindset, one act of gratitude, one gentle step toward loving your body as it is. The ripple begins there. One act of kindness at a time even to yourself, becomes the light that touches others.
Until next time, may your focus today bring you closer to the life you long to live.
With love and du’as always,
Nazia
